Caleb and Shannon’s wedding at The Inn at St. Johns was surrounded with so many emotions. There were tears, tons of laughter, excitement, and a little bit of anxiousness with a missing tie. However, when I arrived the both of them we’re the calmest I’d ever experience a bride and groom to be! It was just so sweet how they, individually, were so excited to be married, yet, so easygoing with their day.
During their ceremony at the gorgeous St. John Chapel, their pastor spoke with so much kindness towards each of their character. He even joked about how they were basically famous for getting their proposal on the local news. That’s right, the local news station caught their proposal on the Rosa Parks Circle ice rink. Their photographed proposal made it on television soon after! As these two became “famous” for their proposal, I hope they, too, will become famous amongst their inner circle for the sweet love they share together.
Shannon’s father also spoke with such favor towards both his daughter and new son-in-law. It was so obvious how blessed everyone felt that day with the two of them uniting. He said it meant so much to him that Shannon chose Caleb because he knew Caleb would always lie down his life for her. He also observed how gentlemanly Caleb always was to Shannon. WOW. What a beautiful testament to the value they have on sacrificial love.
Caleb’s brother also gave a toast that I will never forget because of how much laughter ensued his stories of their childhood and friendship. And yes, they’re a part of this blog post because there was no way I could leave those out! Later on in the evening, both joy and terror filled Caleb and Shannon’s eyes. A few of their strongest guests hoisted them above everyone on chairs during Hora. Then, again, as Caleb’s mom (who was probably more terrified than excited) and brother were perched upon the chairs.
Their wedding day really exemplified so many aspects of their relationship and their families. Everything was beautiful- both with the exterior beauty of all their wedding day details and venue, and internally with the deep love and care the two of them share with one another.
Caleb and Shannon, thank you again for inviting me and Claire to have front-row seats at your wedding day by allowing us to capture all these moments alongside of you. We’re so grateful for you and your families kindness! We know that you will have a beautiful life together as you start this awesome chapter of marriage!
Wishing you two all the best,
Ellen
